Love, Worth

Know Your Worth

You are worth more than gold.

You are worth more than any precious stone.

You are worth dying for.

You are worthy of love.

You are worthy of grace.

You are worthy of respect.

You are worthy of kindness.

You are worthy of conversation.

You are worthy of care.

You are worthy.

Your worth is not in what you look like.

Your worth is not in someone else’s weakness or inadequacy.

Your worth is not in the lies the world tells us.

Your worth is not in the poor behavior of another.

Your worth is not in your own struggles.

Your worth is in God alone. To Him you are a precious, beloved child. Forever loved. Forever cherished. Forever forgiven.

You may have experienced pain at the hands of another. You may have many occasions where you have received less grace, respect, kindness and love than you are worth. And yes, all of those circumstances have the possibility of leaving scars and causing wounds. But I am so thankful that there is a God who is bigger than any of those wounds. The song I referenced in yesterdays blog post – “Great Are You Lord” – says:

You give life, You are love
You bring light to the darkness
You give hope, You restore
Every heart that is broken

So when you find yourself questioning your worth…remember…you are worthy as a child of a King. You are worthy of only the best. Do not settle for less. Remember that others are also children of that same King, and even in our wounding, they are also worthy.

Ask God to fill those scars in your heart – to fill them with love…to remind you daily of your worth in Him.

You are worth only the best.

So true. Life’s recent events have put me in a place where I have been focusing on my worth. I’m working on the fine balance between extending grace vs being a door mat. Within that journey, I have learned to stand my ground – which is standing on God – and not let myself be beat down and devalued by an other. All the while trying to remind others of their worth in Christ. And that the value that Christ puts on you is much greater than anything one could try to put upon themselves.
